Photo Shoot
Today was fun. Had a real go at some product photography for my Hons project: Distil the Whisky Guide.
I have been reading Lighting for product photography by Allison Earnest recently and today I went about setting up lighting rigs and tripods with the aim to produce some real Product Porn Photographs.
I'm incredibly happy with the shots I was able to get with my own equipment. I chose a black back drop to really show off the elegance and luxury aspects of the product, I felt shooting with a standard white background was too standard for the product I am looking to release. I believe the shots show off the unit in its best light and the glistening whisky really came out nice with the lighting set-up I was using. Really hope to try more of this in the future.
The photographs were shot on a Canon 600D with a Canon 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 Lens and a Canon 50mm F1.8 lens with separate macro lens adapters.
