A Trip to the Recovery Centre

Today we took a Trip to Birchwood Highland's largest facility; the Recovery Centre. Based in the centre of Inverness the support centre is a base that consists of single bedrooms, studio apartments and personal flats, which allow residents independence within their own dwelling while at the same time, 24 hours on site support from care workers.

This visit was similar to those at Invergordan and Fort William, simply to meet with some of the support workers and service users to explain the purpose of my internship and when and where I would be filming.

The reception was mixed here, with some of the service users and residents confused about my filming project and concerned by the possible publication of the footage. After a bit of explaining about the details, the individuals were much more inclined to let me in there site and gain a true insight into the Birchwood ethos.
